We did a day trip to Carlisle on April 16 2011. It was a lovely trip, fabulous scenery all the way. Carlisle was a much nicer town than I had realised. The cathedral was beautiful, especially the roof and the stained glass windows. There was also very good exhibition about the history of the cathedral and the city. Daniel was very interested and knowledgeable about the history (he explained quite a bit of it to me!) which made it even more fun.
